I’d like to know what to use so that metals and such come out clean and ready for paint.

I use white vinegar to clean white metal or brass kits.

Thanks to all who responded to my original question. The suggestions and tips were very helpful.

My wife furnished me with a canning jar that was the ideal size to hold the 4 spherical tanks (one at a time). Only issue was that the shape of the tanks meant that they tended to float to the top of the jar and a bit of the tank didn't get immersed in the Bestine. Solved this minor problem by turning the jar upside down after the initial soak of about 8 hours. Tanks turned out fantastic.

I keep having a problem where Bestine removes almost all the wax, but it leaves some. At the moment I have eight trucks soaking, one side frame on each truck still has wax but everything else is clean. They've been soaking about 26 hours now. I've tried scrubbing them with a toothbrush and bestine and with a toothbrush and soap and water. Nothing seems to work. I've had this problem before and multiple days of soaking didn't fix the problem.
Any advice?

Are you sure it is wax residue and not simply a smooth surface of the truck which was not in contact with the wax supports during the printing operation?  The surfaces of the printout which are either on the top of the printout or in other areas where no wax was printed adjacent to them will have a smoother surface which can look translucent.
