It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure I cut a groove in the frame.

That is why I use a flat strip of a cut off motor tab. I solder the strip to the motor tab and route it to the top of the motor.
Before I install the motor I run a of Kapton tape on the inside of the motor opening. Once the motor is installed I solder my orange wire to the extended motor lead.

I file a small wedge into the inside of the lower part of the boiler. Doesn’t show on the outside, once reassembled.
