Um.  I don't think so.  The curved roof is precisely what caught my eye in the photo.

I did notice the C32s seem to have ratchet brakes instead of wheels.

C32-8: six tall doors denoting 12 cylinder power plant. 67’ 11” long. 4000 gallon fuel tank.  389000 pounds.  Horn on cab roof, conductor’s side.

C39-8: eight tall doors denoting 16 cylinder power plant.  70’ 8” long.  4500 gallon fuel tank.  390000 pounds.  Horn on long hood, in front of exhaust stack.

The C39-8’s spent a lot of time out West when they were leased out by Conrail in the 90’s.  I hope this helps.  The other Conrail GE in that photo is a C30-7.  (This is the Kato model.)

The C39-8 was leased to the SP extensively in the early 90's.

And one of the ScaleTrains units (6001) is intentionally lettered as one of them:

Trying to find photos from the 90s with the red L has been challenging, but this nugget (without the L) did turn up on Facebook this past year:

And because I'm an equal opportunity Lease Fleet junkee, here's a Paul Jansson shot from '96 in Taylor Yard, with both NS C39-8 and C40-8s:

There was at least one wreck rebuild with an angled cab roof, but that (or those) were the exception(s) to the rule

I think it’s August 20th (2018), not August 2020.

Maybe it's just me, but I see an L on the cab of that unit.

Wait, does the red L stand for a leased unit? Is that the one I should pick?

Edit: I missed Ed's comment on the first read through.   Thanks for this info.

James, great pic, if only that wasn't another C32. :D
