He is a brass collector, that is his interest in the hobby. And if your pockets are deep enough, why not? Though I would assume that he is more than just a collector, those engines are running very smoothly.

One thing that I noted was they all seemed to run like swiss watches, which isn't a factory feature of most brass.

In one of the vids you can see the wall of shelves filled with models.

I have a few NYC brass models.. Key H10A, H10B, Mohawk, and Pecos Niagara.  I accept that they won't run great, and they will sit happily in the display case in the layout room.

My 30 year old Con Cor Hudsons will look jit as great as a Key brass one.

Nobody has commented about the catenary. That's a whole bunch of modeling effort to expend to get a scenic effect over... well, over raw Unitrack. Dif'rent strokes, I guess. :|

I noticed that too.. I was looking at the details and was curious if they were functioning.. Given the extent he went with tuning the brass and adding sound.. I'd guess Yes - functioning catenary..

His skillset is not layout building or scenery. I suspect that track only exists to run his collection and to test his loco work. Perhaps he belongs to a club where he runs his trains.

If the models are not N, then they have been posted to the wrong page.

Nice collection! I've thought about doing a layout like that, 8-12 inches wide, with some basic scenery. More of a place to run the collection than a faithful reproduction of a certain location.

That's going to be part of what I'll be doing in the next house.
