The GN had hundreds of cars with them, apparently in interchange service, into the BN era. Most of their 2-bay hoppers had them, as well as at least one series of 50 ft flatcar. They also had at least one series of log car with them, but I doubt those were interchanged with anyone.
The 1977 AAR Interchange Rules book has repair rules for "separable journal box" trucks, so they were still allowed in interchange then, and lists permissible replacement journal boxes.
