My third photo posting attempt

Here are three more test photos. I'm using a modified approach of my previous attempts as described in an earlier thread.

The first shows a modified Arnold S-2 in the Los Angeles yards. It's a replica of ATSF engine No. 2342 which had a cameo role in the classic 1950's sci-fi film "Them".

Here's a shot of my scratch built replica of Los Angeles Union Station. As my earlier N-Scale article described, I had to re-arrange the layout to allow easy access and visibility for my passenger yards. The real Union Station is actually located in front of the tracks.

Finally, this is an early shot of my freelanced Redondo Junction roundhouse scene. My steam locomotives have since been modified or replaced with oil burning versions.

Let me know if you can see anything here, will you, guys! Thanks!

It worked for me too - I can see all of the photos - and great photos they are, of a great layout and models.

So far, so good... but let's see where we are in, say, about four hours. That's when things went to heck last time.

I see all 3.  I also spent several hours last night creating a Railwire-hosted photo posting tutorial. It would be interested to see if you could also post photos to TRW Loren.

Hi, Pete -

I'm actually working on that right now. But as I mentioned in a new posting on the Rivarossi Heavyweight thread just a few minutes ago, I'm still being tripped up by an Add Picture button that refuses to cooperate. When I push (click) on it, it just sits there like I don't even exist. I'm not giving up just yet.

You did indeed put a lot of intense work and skill into that amazing tutorial and I deeply appreciate your efforts. Thank you! But I also have noticed some subtle differences in what your screenshots illustrate and what my screen actually displays. For example in the screen shot of the Add Picture window you show, the dialog box is named "browse/no file selected". On my version, it's named "choose file/no file selected". When I click on "choose file", a menu at the top opens that lets me pick from my desktop or any of my folders on it including my photo files. I can access anything here easily, so no problem. Beneath that is the Add Picture button and this is where I'm shut down every time. It ignores me.

I'm going to rest my eyes a bit right now and come back to it later. Maybe I'll stumble onto the right combination. Thanks again, Pete.

Well, we can't say that you haven't tried it.  :)  I'm sure that tutorial will come in handy to many others here. I found the entire TRW gallery awkward to navigate and I suspect that others feel the same way (and maybe avoided using the gallery because of that). But once I figured out how it works I now use it.

The differences between what you see and my screen captures are typical differences you see between Microsoft Windows and Apple-based operating systems.  I don't have a Mac handy to make a Mac tutorial. But it is close enough for both Windows and Mac users to understand the tutorial.

All visible. If all this hassle Loren is going through is one of the wonderful benefits of the "cloud", I'll stay out of it.
Love that scene from "Them". The extended shot of the approaching Santa Fe switcher is something you'd see in a railfan video. I'm wondering if the movie's cameraman or director was one. Watch in the background of the scenes shot along the concrete-lined LA river in the last part of the film and you'll see the tops of steamers behind the freight cars on the riverbank tracks.

Great shots, Loren.  All show nicely.

I still don't altogether trust Google for photos (just pretty much everything else), flickr works well for me.  But given their ownership, I know it's a crapshoot.

And I also have an article awaiting publication in N-Scale - Editor said it was gonna be in Sep-Oct, wasn't.

Good thing I don't do this for a living.
