I have never tired to put picures into my RW posts, so I am no expert.

However, it seems to me that there is a lesson here, and in the previous Photobukit mess: don't trust any third party with your pictures, because they will eventually change in any of multiple possible ways that will screw-up the posts, here.

So, isn't it posssible, and best, to send the actual jpeg to RW, and let them store them for the posts on their site?  That way, nothing is screwed-up by a third party who dosen't care, won't give notice, and won't help yo fix it.

I also strongly agree with you. That is what I have done back on the Atlas forum and as sonn as that option became available, I've done here. That way the photos will be visible in the forum for as long as the forum is active. But for some reason Loren couldn't upload photos to TRW either. Weird.

I don't agree at all.

I've been posting photos for a few years here, and on other forums periodically, and there is no guarantee that any of the places your photos are being uploaded to will be around in a few years.  Although I don't see anything "wrong" with storing the photos you're going to post at TRW at TRW, I choose to upload mine to Google Photos, since I'm pretty sure that Google is going to be around for a while too (since they're a multi-billion-dollar company), and I can easily access and post the photos I have there to forums other than TRW.

I also contribute to forums that are not model railroading oriented, and I can store an unlimited number of photos for free at Google Photos if I allow them to reduce their size a bit from the originals's size.  This is fine with me, because I store the full-sized photos on one of several external hard drives dedicated to that purpose at home.

So, my argument that the photos I post here are just as accessible (or more accessible) at Google Photos is just as valid as your argument that there's some sort of "lesson" to be learned by Loren having difficulty posting his photos  here, which happened to be uploaded to Google Photos.  Remember, his problems using TRW's Gallery were equally difficult for him.

In any case, I am extremely happy that Loren's photos, and his model railroading work, will now be much more visible to us, and frankly, I would not have cared which photo storage place he used.

Just sayin'....

Cheerio!
