Bachmann ore car = Chinese prototype

Just scaled down tooling of their HO model, which is also marketed under their Bachmann China range of products.

I'm guessing one of the the main reasons Kato hasn't done the E7 yet is there were none on the Santa Fe, other than that, the UP, CB&Q, Pennsylvania, SP and now the Milwaukee all had them.

Safe bet everyone who has any of the listed sets would buy 2-3 E7 units.  Would even support an additional set of passenger cars in my opinion.

Doesn't automatically make it a Chinese prototype.  It matches the MDC/Athearn car perfectly.  My bet is that it's just a copy of that with no though to the actual prototype.

fwiw, it's got a different ladder on the left side (which matches the Athearn car) as the Bachmann HO car.

The HO model is a Chinese prototype which they later redecorated for sales on the US market.

The HO Schnabel car is the same way. Chinese prototype marketed at home and abroad in paint schemes respective of each market.

I'd need more proof.  From what I see, it's just a HO silver series car marketed in two Chinese paint schemes.

Um, Great Northern had them too, which would require Kato releasing the EB.

And if it is the post 1955 EB with the full length dome, I'd have to order 2 sets of the cars, one to strip and convert to BN business cars and other just to have.

That ore car is pretty much bang on for the SP car... And matches bachman's old habbit of copying old HO scale tooling, not a chinese prototype...

Maybe there is another scenario: the 1:1 ore cars were made in China and imported to US? If so then the Bachmann car is of a Chinese prototype.

Close enough for an early SP car, but needs the 12" extension to fit the mid-1960s to late 1980s:

Ike:  I'd want at least 5 of the full domes:  EB, BSB, GN green/white, BN green/white, AMT phase 1.  There were only six of the cars, and there's 5 prototype paint schemes.  As far as I know no EB painted cars made it to Amtrak, but the BSB and both green schemes did.

And if they did the NCL, the hardest part of the EB would be done, except for the full dome, the dome coaches.  They were identical.  Even if all they made was the NCL, I'd buy a bunch of the domes for repainting, and replace my almost 50 year old CC models.

This is what I don't get, they should know by now people won't pay that price for a Bachmann and they are $15 now.
