Been a while but I've been busy slowly making progress on the layout addressing signal issues and tidying up wiring.  The last few weeks I've been working on a new coal mine.  Wanted to play with weathering and adding lighting to this structure to add interest.  Still have to add paint and weathering to the roof and add catwalks and steps to the exterior as well as the doors to lower section.

I didn't get a lot of modeling done but I did get to railfan C&O #7534 this weekend. I got to catch it at several locations as it headed towards Clifton Forge to the C&O Historical Society.

I also decided to turn my Kato plated girder bridges to an open deck since they did not make them in the length I needed.  Here they are painted and weathered.

Hello David...can you post any photos of the mine structure with the lighting on? I'm always looking for ideas on where to use LEDS or inspiration from what other modelers are doing.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback!  I will work on putting together a tutorial on how I did the weathering of the coal mine and will take a couple pictures of it with the lighting connected.

An abbreviated Modutrak layout visited the St Louis RPM meet in Collinsville last weekend. I took some video of a few different trains and a few different locations

Late to the party, but it was a three day weekend for us. No modeling as we made a road trip San Antonio, TX for a Celebration of Life for my Wife's uncle who passed recently. We made the trip a little vacation and stopped to do some site seeing as a family. One of the stops was in Burnet, TX where we got to see the Hill Country Flyer making its station stop before heading back to Austin.

According to the website it is out of service for unexpected restoration. I was hoping to catch the RSD-15.
