Do you need printed building interiors? Hmm.

If you never do anything at all to the building interiors, at the very least do something to prevent this:

@DKS,

Agreed.  100%.  I actually started the process of adding interior walls last weekend, but I haven’t touched the project this week.  There will definitely be more partitions at a minimum to prevent that problem.

I just put a piece of paper, color is irrelevant but I usually prefer black, diagonally from front to back.

This guy models mostly tanks, but for some reason I keep watching his videos. Anyways this one made me think of that Beetle next to the garage.  :D

Well his stuff is really good. And the main reason I overuse AK products for weathering.

I’ve found a much simpler and cheaper alternative to this. Next time you’re at the home improvement store grad a handful of paint sample cards. You can get any color you desire no painting involved although when the light is blocked the color is barely noticeable.

Great idea, but I’m just using up scrap styrene left over from building the streets and sidewalks.  I’ve got a decent pile that I just dug into for those pieces.  So, practically no cost.  And, these pieces turned out to become structural, because they straightened the slightly warped back wall nicely.

Thanks for sharing that, Chris.  I wish I had seen that before I built my Beetle.  But, there’s a few ideas that I might do if and when I get back to that project.  I really like the moss.

I think you might be misunderstanding the intent of both mine and Southernman’s posts.
We were both suggesting ways to limit seeing through windows from front to rear in the building, not how to put in interior walls.

No, no.  I understood.  I’m doing both and will either use scrap styrene or construction paper to block the front to back view, too.

I decided to add one more building to the town of Aberdeen scene.  I purchased this little DPM kit today.

I was smart and didn’t glue these subassemblies together, which will simplify some of the masking and trimwork painting.

It will go behind the large block of buildings to help deepen the scene of what is Main Street in the prototype Aberdeen.  My version is truncated at the front and the back.

This street corner back here has really bugged me, because I lopped the 45 degree angle way too short.  I’ll go in and remove some greenery and tack some styrene on to extend the street to give sufficient room for vehicles to make this corner.  I’ll add a new section of sidewalk, and you can see that I have sufficient room to wrap the sidewalk around the side to where it won’t be seen from normal viewing angles.  That will clean up that corner and give the scene some depth.  I hope.  As I fix the street, I’ll post pictures that will show the repair better than I can explain it.

I carved out the scenery contour near the corner of the road and found that the styrene road was not a straight, clipped corner.  Out came the tracing paper and I made a template.  I tried gluing the street section in with gussets underneath, but there was no good way to ensure the gussets bonded securely to the bottom side of the existing road section.  I also piled a blob of lightweight spackling under the new road patch for additional support.  We’ll find out in the next day or two whether that street is going to need more support under the seam, which will get puttied to hide the worst of the seam in the pavement.  When I restore the grass adjacent to the street, I’ll make it a rounded street corner.  For now, I need to wait for the flooded styrene cement and the lightweight spackling to dry.

This second picture shows the new sidewalk section. Again, these styrene pieces came from the scrap styrene pile.  I used 0.060” for the road and 0.080” for the sidewalk.

I think the new building and sidewalk just add a little more depth to the scene.

The putty to patch the seams is dry and sanded, and the subsequent primer is drying.  The seams aren’t invisible, but I may just let it go, since this area isn’t easily viewed.  The one seam on the hill will be hidden behind structures, and I’ll place a car over the seam of the patch in the street’s corner, if necessary.  Once the primer is dry, I’ll mask and paint the concrete sidewalk and gutters.

Just a heads-up... streets have seams... and patches, and cracks, and other stuff like that...
