@Point353,Nailed it. That is exactly what I thought. I’m not sure why it never occurred to me to split the power, especially where the prototype has scenarios where they do that.Guess I better start shopping for that second SOU engine. Orrrrrrrrrrr, a pair of Southern F-units. DFF
You could have an Atlas U23B now: https://yankeedabbler.com/atlas-10003451-u23b-sou-southern-3936-gold-dcc-sound-ho-scale/https://yankeedabbler.com/atlas-10003452-u23b-sou-southern-3939-gold-dcc-sound-ho-scale/https://yankeedabbler.com/atlas-10003453-u23b-sou-southern-3964-gold-dcc-sound-ho-scale/Or, the Atlas B23-7 is supposed to be shipping sometime during 3Q21.
Ooh, going to have to be careful with the purchase of an Atlas U23B. No. 3964 wasn't built until, get this, 1977, which is basically the end of U23B construction and when GE started the Dash 7 line. The other two U-Boats, Nos. 3936 and 3939, appear to be built in 1975. That's a little better.DFF
I’m not so worried about the road number that I would need to go hunting for old stock or used locomotives when I can get a current model with a LokSound decoder and LED lights. I need to do nothing but swap out the couplers for Sergent Engineering couplers. Not one person I know would call me out if I happened to run No. 3936 in 1974.DFF
I model SOU circa 1962-ish. U23b was introduced in 1968. But I like it, I bought one (second one on order). My railroad, my rules.Let’s do the time warp again.....
