Well, the first attempt was a failure. I was hoping to use the light gray primer and match the road coming down the hill, bringing the older pavement down to a logical place to meet the newer pavement in town. Unfortunately, the weathering did not blend well, and I had a really obvious line where the new paint met both the older and newer pavement. It looked wrong, although, on the bright side, the styrene seam is not readily apparent. So, when all else fails, go for the dark gray primer and the obvious “patch” repair. Not my preference, but it will have to do. I’ll repaint some traffic lines and give it a light weathering when this primer dries.DFF
The Railwire is not your personal army.
Get some styrofoam insulation and carve out a station! Looking good! All those curved crossings look like fiddly work...
Yes! Foam Depot: The Next Generation! Hahahahaha!!!Those curved turnouts are Walthers' turnouts made by Shinohara, so I didn't have to build them. They probably work better that way. DFF
Turnouts are cool, but I was admiring the curved styrene crossing sections... really good work!
Hopefully you still have the drawings I did for the SCL station. I've been hunting through my archives and I'm coming up empty. If you can print out the N scale version I did, you should be able to apply the standard ratio to blow up the drawings to HO.I'll keep looking, though. I drew that up two computers ago!Lee
That's where thin paper and a pencil lead come in handy to burnish across the rail tops setting your curve template....and it is nice work Dave.
