A little further on my mini Climax.





And for fun a 12ton brass Climax I'm slowly converting from HOn3 to HOn30. Crazy how you can find these for dirt cheap.


And this was a start at a Climax about 20 years ago on a LifeLike SW chassis.  :scared:

Found it in an old parts box.

Guess messing with the Climax got me into the swing of things. I started refining the quarry area with some staining on the walls, stairs into the pit, and built up the rubble pile.

Most of these blocks are glued down and it looked so bare still so I added a bunch of loose pieces all over. I'm out of blocks now and need to make a few more to finish this area.



The crane that has been shown here was chopped down for something else before being used here and I figured it need to be tall like it once was. I'll scratchbuild a new taller crane and put the shorty in the back right area.

Also got a base scenery around the bend and over to the flour mill. The mill area got a dirt road.


And being this layout is so small I figure people can guess the plan pretty easy, but I still keep getting asked about a "trackplan". Whipped this up.

Added more cut stones to the yard.


And put quarry water in one section.


It is just a piece of clear plastic that was painted clear green on the underside. It pops right out. Not sure if I like the water color, but it is hard to mix solid paints with clear paints.  :|

So maybe a few more coats of green to darken it up? and maybe stipple to top with gloss so it isn't perfectly smooth?

Yeah, maybe. Most quarry water is pretty dark.
