Haha, that scene always looks so familiar because... I was just there!

Although, it looks a little different from the top.

just curious, why the rails along the arches?  Not a Pennsy fan, do not want to start anything, just a simple question.

You mean the steel beams?  Reinforcements...  World War II traffic beat the hell out of the Pennsy's physical plant and apparently "spalling" became a threat to the bridges...  The beams help hold the stone in place and have long steel tie rods that go through the arches.  The Rockville bridge isn't reinforced this way and some years ago a passing freight dislodged a sizable chunk of bridge that took a hopper car with it into the Susquehanna.

Make sure you check your prototype before adding those steel beams. Not every bridge had them, and they seemed to get more scarce the further west.

No, I said "Ed's Law."

That and the number per arch (4 or 5) and orientation (vertical versus radial) varied from bridge to bridge too.

I can vouch for the Atlas viaduct - but it needs some help.  I applied matte medium gel to each stone with a toothpick to achieve a typical PRR stone texture that the Atlas viaduct does not have.  (This is actually not as crazy as it sounds - it only took about a half hour).  I then painted the stones a dark gray, drybrushed lighter gray and tan highlights, and used a mortar paste to pop the mortar lines.

What was the mortar paste you used?

I used Builders In Scale Brick Mortar. There are other brands also.

It's been a slow summer for progress on the Pennsy

But I finished the mainline for the right side of the city this afternoon.
Feeds are in place along with 2 of 4 switch machines

Still have to run the bus for the layout. I also cut up 20' of cat 5 into 1' sections for feeders, just to find out it's Stranded wire not solid :(

Hope to finish this up and lay the tracker across the city next to finally finish a mainline loop.

After a trip to the NMRA MER Convention with @Ed Kapuscinski , I finished crimping the rest of the 140 powerpoles onto 350' some odd feet of wire. Creating 4 Pairs of Blue, Orange, Brown and Green.

I bought 400' of black 14ga wire from lowes for $35 and then cut it all up. I then spray painted the wire to match the powerpoles.

Blue will be the outside main(Closest to the Edge)
Orange is the Inside main
Brown is the Sidings
Green is accessory bus.

This will allow me to do signalling and detection in the future when the budget allows without rewiring the layout. While also allowing me to divide each side into blocks with the PM42s.

The main 14ga bus will have suitcase connectors with a 14ga wire coming off into a terminal strip, the other side will have 22ga wire from CAT5 cable as the feeder to the track and to the switch machine to power the points.

All powerpoles crimped and made into pairs.(Used a black sharpie to mark the striped side.)

First splice made!

First Section all spliced in.

After I finished a section I then tested to make sure power was passing to the correct rail.

Current status,
60% of the mainline switch motors are installed.
All mainline switches are installed
Only small section of track left before the mains are completed.

where did you find AWG 22 CAT5 wire?   The thickest I've been able to procure is AWG 24.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.
