Quote
Jerry:  I once saw a video of an end loader using its arm the way you describe, not only to move between cars, but to climb onto them in the first place.  It worked, but still looked a little precarious.  For a small operation, or a one-time job, that would be a lot cheaper, and easier, than a machine like this one.

Quite enjoyable... (actually a number of videos on Youtube...)

NS 7337 taking shape. It's one of 4 ex Indiana Railroad SD9043MACs that NS recently acquired from Citigroup.

I'm working on a couple of U50's for eBay. Also in the paint booth is a RJ Corman SD40-2 Snoot (inspired by one I photographed behind the house on CSX's Louisville-Cincinnati Line).

Chris, are you aware of this new Shapeways U50?

I don't know (yet) if it can be made to fit the Con-Cor chassis, but among other things it addresses the most glaring omission, the see-through radiator bays.

Hi
Just to show I have something other than Alcos' I added an MbE water tank to my Intermountain FP-9A.  CP Rails F-units were amoung the first North American locomotives I saw, thanks to Silver Streak.  Always been a favourite.  Tremblant Park just behind the 1411, was our home for 4 days on the Canadian 4 years ago.  Great fun.

Cheers

I love those CP FP9's! The icicle breakers really make this a unique model. I detailed a pair earlier this year as well.

Carshops are working on a backload of passenger cars for the PRR name train consists. A B60 using Lemostreams's PRR horse car brass doors, an AHM RPO remade into a PB70 with Lemostream's steps added, an AHM P70 being remade into a P70GR still needs body work and proper undercarriage, and a RR car reworked into a 14 section. The conversion wasn't hard; the problem is finding decals with the correct names for the cars. "Elbert H Gary" was pieced together from a MS decal set.
Photobucket doesn't like the pictures my new camera takes, so I need a new photo hosting place. Any suggestions?

Started work on a Walthers HO bus station....sort of.

The only thing I'm using from it is the base and windows. I'm replacing the brick walls with a tile wall to represent something more like this.

Hate to admit it but the first photo of the bus station has me stumped as to whether it's real vs. a model.  :?

I've been messing with this scene for years - Flagstaff, AZ in 1972 - and the incremental improvements sometimes get lost.   Just occurred to me that it's probably been 5+ years since I even updated photos of what it looks like with the finished buildings, overhauled grade crossings, change in ballast color, weathering, photo backdrops I took....  and lighting advice from the late, great Verne Niner.

Really effective, Randy. It's been nearly 15 years since we've been in Flagstaff, but, sure 'nuff, you certainly captured the look I remember. Nice.

That scene looks great Randy - it is tough to tell where the layout ends and backdrop begins.  Very nice!

Getting closer... Still need to clear coat the shell, add number boards, horn, DCC, and LED lighting before moving on the the second one.
