I'll have to remember that for when I build the Utz facility.  Does Surly Salt deal in food grade salt products, like that for potato chips ?

Absolutely! It ships it in... Well, whatever you stick the decals on.

Note to self - dumping over your nearly empty Bondene when your closest hobby shop is over two hours away is not helpful.

I was about to respectfully recommend installing some thin cardstock or aluminum foil...

In very tiny print it's Aggregates . . . I need to add a sub sign that says Home of SURLY SALT.
I'll have to remember that for when I build the Utz facility.  Does Surly Salt deal in food grade salt products, like that for potato chips ?

RE: food grade salt.....I know the Finger Lakes Railway in NY has covered hoppers for food grade only - marked with a 'green dot' on the car, different from cars for road salt, etc. It's a good way to 'sub-divide' operations, spotting  only 'green dots' at Surly Salt instead of any old hopper......

On January 1,2021 a Mr. S. Clause arrived in Alsen, La to inspect the securement of one red sleigh. Said sleigh had just completed annual circumnavigation duties and a post-use refurbishment at Wizard of the Woods, a @DKS industry. The sleigh will be pulled back to Hay River, Northwest Territories, Canada where it will be off loaded for further shipments north. This special move will be completed by CN 1439, seen at the extreme left, a recently restored GMD-1. CN engineer Mike @Puddington McGrattan who will helm this special move can be seen on the porch of KCS 656 assisting with the inspection. Mr. Clause is expected to make the entire transit in the Milwaukee Road caboose attached to the right just out of frame.

Happy New Year!

Spent over an hour excavating the workbench top. Spent 3 hours covering plants and pool pumps for the sleet and freeze coming today (!). Then started on a new flatcar load:

The clear plastic things will be painted industrial yellow and with some strategic holes and NBW castings should take on the look of overhead crane parts.  I hope.  The flatcar is an old 50' Atlas that I redecked in laser cut wood (sadly I don't remember which vendor) and weathered with an india ink wash.  Still need trucks, a side mount brake wheel couplers and decals for it.
