You would be hard pressed to prove the statement that ATSF bought parlor cars converted to Tourist sleepers... it just didn't happen.

Jerry,

You are indeed correct, and I apologize to everyone for any confusion I inadvertently caused.  I got the various WWII rebuilding programs confused, and while parlor cars were rebuilt into (I think) hospital and/or medical transports, they were not made into the 13-1 tourist/troop cars.  And from the list in the sleeping car book, it appears the vast majority of cars purchased by the Santa Fe for conversion to work service were originally 2410 (with various letters) 12-1s that had been converted to tourist cars, along with some 2412 and a few of a couple other classes.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

See the article below for more info on Pullman Plan 3416 28-1 parlors converted to troop sleepers.  There were quite a few done... even five that retained their roof top AC ducts.  I included a drawing on how to make the bunks...

Just none acquired after the War by ATSF.  Roster can be found at this url... just search "Plan 3416T troop sleeper", there were 15 that were converted to troop sleepers...

You can add 35 more cars that were rebuilt from Plan 2416C and 2416D parlors which had the same window pattern as the MT's 3416 model, the 2416Ds had the pediment ends while not all of the 2416C cars had the pediment end... I really need to write up a roster page covering these cars so that it would be easier to find the information.

The "care package" from MT came today, roof and interiors; thank you Microtrains!
Appreciate the follow up and the free replacement parts! Thanks!
