This is very good news about the flats if indeed they are new tooling and not just de-racked autorack flats.

Hopefully not the same.  The autorack flats have areas to mount the rack on the channel side like this car -

The N scale model has those same nubs on the inside IIRC.

We (I) want new tooling with the full channel like this -

Maybe they are new tooling just checked the HO f89f and it's a Bethlehem car too so if these are the non rack cars it will be awesome as I've wanted channel side flats for ages.

There's a picture of the N scale car in the PDF (look at the stirrups)

http://www.athearn.com/newsletter/112516/12_N-scale_89ft_BSC_TOFC_Flat_112516.pdf

Not the best photo but judging by that and the artwork I would say no mounting areas...

It does look that way. All that's left is to lower them 2'.  :P

SUH-WHEET!

Appears to be a photo of an Nscale model.  Wish it weren't so fuzzy.

Also I'm stoked about the re-run of the NP flat, I've been trying to obtain one of those for a while now, they are not available.

I went back through my posts and it only took 6 years for the F89F flat to go from:

I'm very pleased to see the F89F TOFC flat finally available in N. Arguably the most popular car of the 89' flat era, it's good for 50 years of service, in many different roles.

Truly an iconic piece of equipment, especially in the intermodal world.

I'm even happy to wait for the 12+ months for the TTX release and give the wallet a chance to get over the TankTrain release.  :scared:

Looks like my fleet of MTL flats is going to get sold off or something soon if Atlas and Athearn keep up the releases.
