Are the FVM 50' Milwaukee rib side double doors new?
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Sirenwerks:  Yes, and I can definitely use those MILW double door cars, as kitbashing them from the single door versions looks painful.  After doing a wide-door 50 ft car, I didn't try the double door version...

Hopefully the MILW covered hoppers will have a thinner slogan plate than the PM/IM version.  The one I have (in storage) has a plate thicker than the ribs.

The BN FMC hoppers will be very welcome.  They bought literally thousands of those from 1973(?) into the early 80s.  I saw one in original 1975 paint a few weeks ago in West Virginia, in an NS grain train, with the newer BNSF hoppers.  Still had the large mid-70s two-panel lube plate and ACI label!

the decoder, does it work with older SD40-T2's?

I would bet not.  IM tooled the SD40-2 specifically for this board and ESU created the board to fit IM requirements.  Odds are older tooling may not fit it quite right.

Ortner as in the PM/RC 5 bay?

Hopefully the PS4750 and FMC4700 will have Body mounts too..

Cool.. Looking forward to those..

The Trainworx part for the Ortner cars also fits the FMC 4700 (also the Greenville 3000 cuft car that I assume is now FVM property)

This part won't work on the PS 4750 (and 4740 that I assume is now FVM property), but there is a forthcoming Trainworx part that is designed to fit them.

Looks FVM is finally doing releasing the improve RC tooling which is a real good thing. FEC SD70m2 should be good for those who model FEC before 2014.

From the announcement, I assume the Ortner cars are going to be the existing PM/RC tooling plus Trainworx adaptors.

I'd like to know if the PS 4750's and FMC 4700's are going to be the existing PM/RC tooling plus Trainworx adaptors or if they plan any other changes, e.g. replacing the roofwalks that were molded on the roof (and a real Bee Itch to remove) with separate etched roofwalks that don't look like they were carved out of a block of soap.

Aren't those the Silversides?

Jason

They are also doing a western style steel PS rotary gondola, similar but different... BN and a number of utilities...

Yes!  I too hope these will be reworked with etched roof walks (same for the Greenville 3000 cuft).  If they do, I'll replace the ones I currently have.  If not, I'll probably pass.

In any event, I'm happy to see the Red Caboose offerings starting to return.  It would be great to see upgrades to the center-beam flats as well: e.g., the open-panel and single-panel flats should have a longer wheelbase and different end panels (and lower ride height...).

Yeah that's the one, it seems to have vanished, I know they had a test sample. Will see anybody has any information from the show.

Evans coil cars with cushioned coupler pockets would be nice

[quote author=Peter Amling wrote:Fox Valley made a few announcements. ... On the back wall they had a poster saying they are planning new runs of PS 4750 and FMC 4700 hoppers for 2017, as well as a new B&O boxcar? I forgot to take a photo of the poster.[/quote]

As with the Ortner hoppers could this box car be the former Red Caboose PRR X29/ARA 1923 box car, which would be the B&O class M-26.

They photocopied a Kato and BLI catalog and stapled them together.

:D

On a more serious note of the three I wonder who will be the first to announce a Little Joe... I can see it coming from any three of them...  :)
