Re: MBK... I've used their "advance product notification" form in the past. It used to be they gave you a one-day window to place your order before the product hit the main site. Not sure if that's still the case or not, but the system does work.

I think MBK defaults to "sold out" , if it is sold out , and also for when it hasn't arrived on their shelves yet .

The response to the notification request now says something along the line of you will be notified when it is listed for sale on our website, as opposed to the old policy that gave requesters a brief window of time when they had access to the product page before it was posted to the public.  However, I think sometimes they order 10, and get a shipment in of 3, and those 3 go to the first few (or sometimes first 1) to read their email notification.  A couple times that has happened to me, but usually more come in a week or two later.  If I miss out on something I want, I just put in another "email when in stock" request, and, to date, always got one on the second try.

Hoping they do get a new shipment of the MT undecorated coaches- that is one I really wanted and missed due to a family emergency (yes, there are things more important than trains, but all is well now)- I think they sold out of 50 in the first 12 hours or so that they had them listed.  I put in a new notification request, I should probably check my email.  I also need to get a count on how many I still need to complete my various car side projects.

At MBK, you can place a special order by calling customer service:

Your order will not appear on the website.

Man, I'm gonna need a bunch of the Ford pickups! I'm looking at 8 or 10 per car - so up to 20 pickups if I just want to fill two racks! :scared:

Yup, think Atlas will have to sell these in 10 packs, cuz I have a feeling a LOT of them will end up on auto racks! They can call them rack-packs!!!!!!

Actually, a pickup 10-pack could be a good seller, and not just for the autoracks.  For rural layouts, pickups are a common part of the scenery, and into the 80s, there weren't that many styles.  Seeing the side of a street parked multiple colors of two or three models wasn't unusual.

Ford, Chevy, GMC and Dodge basically had it covered in the early 70s, with small trucks from Datsun and Toyota starting to become common.  A layout could go through a 10-pack rather quickly.  If the simpler packaging saved a little bit over individual sales, I'd be very happy to buy them that way.

Is there any indication of when these will be released? Either the cabeese or the trucks?

We probably won't have a release date for the pickups until they are officially announced.    :(

Paul told me the F-100s were the first test shots from the tooling, and that the factory "pushed them through" so Atlas would have the painted samples to show at Trainfest.  But, judging from the looks of the test shots, I think they will be worth the wait.   :D

 ;)
International and Jeep were still selling Pickups into the 70s.
late Internationals had Scout type cabs.
Jeeps had CJ cabs until the Wagonaire came out around 63.
Jeep also had those strange Cab Overs for a few years.
Studebaker was selling pickups until about 1965,the last ones
had Lark looking cabs, but before that the same cab from about
  1948 was being used.
some areas were hot spots for these odd ball makers, other areas
  they would be very Rare.
DJZ had a Jeep Pick Up in cast metal for HO at one time.
