meh... :?

Proally the fact that Craig was there was the most exciting part of it..

Pickups are a bit too old for my needs..

I'll take a Conrail NE 5 when the time comes.. and may grab an Undec to try to make a bay window version..

I thought so, but I couldn't see the ribs on the model in the video, even at full size!...

How do these count as new items?  Aflas already had f150 pickups and this caboose. Just new roadnames. Meh.

Atlas made the NE-6, similar but different from the NE-5.

The previous F150 was a 90's model, out of my era, this one is 70s...and fits my era..

I would say they are new items... :P

I know it doesn't hit many of you, but an NE-5 for me is as big as the FVM RIb Side caboose was for Milwaukee modelers.  The CGW had 25 of these and was the staple of the caboose fleet.  There are at least 12-15 paint schemes just between the CGW and CNW (merger).  I'm in for 5-6 undecs but will be watching the artwork closely to hopefully get things as correct as possible even though I know I'll never convince them to not paint all the CGW running boards black.  :|

Looking forward to maroon minuteman B&M buggies. I know some people will want blue ones, but they're too late for me.

So I guess that answers my question as to how appropriate they are for CGW, will have to get one to put on a transfer for my ~1960 Soo/Milw theme...  :D

When were they first built?

The B&M ones were two batches, 1942 and 1944. The New Haven's were prewar (1940?) and I think the CGW's were shortly postwar. As far as I can tell these are the three roads that had them.

The F150s are awesome for bi-level racks serving a Ford factory (for me, Ford pickups produced in Norfolk). The downside is that it's gonna cost big $ to fill up a couple racks ...
