@Lemosteam @chicken45

The load is very well modeled.  I am surprised that there are no visible raster lines from the Shapeways process.

@tom mann , that is more a testament to @chicken45 's sanding skills, but thank you nonetheless.

My thoughts, too. And whose product is that house?  :)

Jim

Model Power Victorian House. IIRC, it is a re-boxed POLA kit.

No, I said "Ed's Law."

I did a little weathering this weekend. Some before and after.

A "little" weathering?   It looks great!

I've been working on my Cajon pass layout. I've started a thread if anyone wants to check it out.

It was a busy Sunday on the layout. With the final tortoise installed under CP York, all of the dispatcher controlled switches are now up and running in JMRI.  I also spent a bunch of time cleaning up the panel.

I really cannot say enough good things about the Accu-Lites SNAPS Tortoise edge connectors. They made wiring an absolute breeze. http://acculites.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=566

I also fixed the bump we noticed the other day and painted the track north of the yard (well, almost all of it).

Between switch installs, I also did some painting of other stuff, like my TARDIS.

Diner progress.  I milled new glass from a Lexan plastic sheet and added shades made from white electrical tape. I had to make individual shades for the pantry door and window because they are visible through the window on the other side and the cars will be illuminated. Time to start working on the roofs.

Did you use an MTL car (or part of one)?

The only thing I can add is maybe next time have the sides bashed up and dented, but it's still a great model.

I know I am not finished with it. I need to find a few cheap ones i don't care about to practice denting techniques.

I know I am not finished with it. I need to find a few cheap ones i don't care about to practice denting techniques.

Dab on layers of CA on the sides to simulate bulges. You'll have to paint over them after, of course, but it works. And don't use a soldering iron! The key is to hide your techniques and using a soldering iron makes it look like you used a soldering iron on it.

Put the model in hot water then make dents by rolling it over a corner or something.

some work on the T-TRAK modules (specifically 'Arbo' and 'Queenman' Canyons...

some extra detail carving and the first coat of paint (ostensibly to pick a good base color)...this first coat reveals that I won't have to cover the entire slope(s) in precolored Sculptamold (keeping weight down), only 'repair' a few areas where the layers of styofoam show...still have that, talus, ground cover, careful sedimentary layer painting, and some scrub vegetation left!
Thanks for looking,
