Wheels of Time to offer Horse car doors and roof

Wheels of Time announced on Facebook today that they will soon be offering the new 80' horse car doors and roof (with separate vents) in addition to the new car.  In looking at the photo on Facebook you can see the detail of these new doors, which will be several different types in each set, including older wood doors that have the raised framing so often seen on older cars.  The following are the three sets that will soon be released...

Item No. 99250 -  Door Set A - (12) 6-ft wide doors and (4) 4'-10" wide modernized doors; wood doors, modernized, wood modified; 2 sprues, unpainted.

Item No. 999251 - Door Set B - (10) 4'-10" small doors; wood doors, modernized, wood modified;  2 sprues, unpainted.

Item no. 999252 - 80-ft clerestory baggage roof with 24 roof vents and 1 stove chimney pipe, unassembled unpainted.

Price has not yet been announced but these new details should prove to be of interest to a number of modelers, especially so folks who might seek to "backdate" some of the current offerings.  To learn more you can visit their new page by clicking on the link below...

Jerry, can you surmise what roads would use these detail parts?

Looks like a wide clerestory roof, which would be great for me.  The part can be used in kitbashing a wide variety of heavyweights.  Short-porch observations and solarium observations would be on my list of projects-made-easier with the availability of the WOT roof.  I've already bashed a roof for my diners from multiple MTL parlor roofs, so no reason to replace them.

Most older baggage and baggage - mail cars had doors like this, with newer doors being added by many roads as the old ones got too old or needed replacement due to damage.  Most went with metal doors (Southern Railway favored what appears to be unpainted aluminum) much like what are found on stock models.  Really the only way to tell is to look for images of various cars, with the hope that some older shots are actually around.  Railroad diagrams may show what type of windows are in the doors but not whether or not it would have been the older wood doors.

My favorite, which has one old and one new.  Ironically, a wood door with a single large window, and what looks like a metal door with several smaller panes.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Be nice if WOT posted photos that weren't either too small or, once you click on the tiny ones, blow up into ones so huge w/ no ways to move them around, so you see only 1/4 of the picture and can't shift it. Is that for Iphones and Facebookies?

Look on the Walthers web site for better photos for these parts. Delivery early next year with prices at $9.59 for the door and $10.59 for the roof.

Tried to take a look but all the listings have: "no image currently available"

Sorry, my mistake.  If you click onto your the WOT site on the first post and double click on the photo you will see a larger image of the parts

Does anyone know the prototype for the roof vents?
