Was there a "Rolling Stock of New England" book of NH passenger equipment? I know there was a whole series on NH equipment of all kind.

Well since I model the early NH(1920) I too would be in for the NH prototype 7800 series. But second to that model the NYC prototype makes sense to me as well and I would probably get some of those in undec when they got around to that stage.

I am not  aware of any books covering Passenger Cars of New England. There was only the one book on NH passenger equipment  and may have been others covering B&M,PRR etc .

I have about 10 books all covering the NH, two of which are named Rolling Stock of New England-Vol 1 being "New Haven Railroad Work Equipment" and Vol 2 "New Haven Railroad Freight Equipment"
by Robert A. Liljestrand. Both were printed about 2001. All the photos appearing in these books were from the collection of Bob's Photos.
There is probably a list of the books published....try Google.

I have info for Erie baggage, RPO's, mail cars, Pullmans, Diners, Business cars, etc, but not much on coaches.  I say go for the NYC car or whatever Branchline/now Atlas did for their car.

If you want I'll buy you one to measure  ;)

Drawings are also available at the Pullman Library at the Illinois Railway Museum.

From a business standpoint, the New York Central prototype is the logical choice.

Maybe have a chat with Wheels of Time over the SP coach- seems more in their ballpark.

If you were king of the world, you would want to make the entire 27 cars in the CSX executive train.

You know you would.

A perfect solution for NH modellers as a single window coach and also the fact that some cars ran on 6 wheel trucks and the balance on 4 wheel trucks.

Definitely something that should be taken into consideration when designing the new car.  Depending on the road you can find either 4- or 6-wheel trucks in use so both should be included in the planning so that modelers will be able to choose the appropriate truck for their road.

Another option may be to consider arched roofs since some roads did rebuild their coaches with such though I would suspect that this is better left to those who are able to do rapid prototyping.  Can't remember whom it was but someone recently mentioned that he would be offering arched roofs for some of the MT cars already in production.

As far as New Haven goes one thing to keep in mind when speaking about heavyweight coaches is that there were a number of Deluxe Smoker coaches in the 6800 - 6843 series.  Essentially coaches used for smoking, these cars add too what could be done for the NH in a great way.
