Arnold U28C price change?

It looks like it is on target for the end of the month but i am a little surprised at the pre order price!  $50 less than the listed MSRP I see on shop websites.

It also looks like they show a Penn Central U25C available for Pre-order.  Looks like it has different details than the original CB&Q and NP versions.  No PRR like I had hoped, but my air brush could solve that.  The lower price makes that practical.

Isn't Arnold in financial trouble right now?  Likely trying to raise cash quickly to sure up their financial stability.  Wonder if the same will be done with the SW1s?

That MSRP seems like giving them away if you go with a normal markup.  That MSRP is better than street price on any other new release.  I will be glad to pay it but I feel it is suspect.

OOPs! So anybody ever thinking they may want any N loco Rapido has produced so far should probably seriously consider buying them if the company goes under ...
If only they'd made a F7 or E8 as their first n loco then  they'd have sold a zillion.

I think you're confused. Contemporary Rapido trains company is unrelated to Hornby/Arnold (which is the company currently  in trouble).

Is it??? For a dcc ready version of most new locomotive the street price still seems to be between 60 and 85$. Depending on how much the dealer discount is these locomotives might wind up right in that window.

The first run had a 20% discount at mbk so that would put these at 80$ street, right in line with the just released Atlas Rs11.

I agree. I also have lots of the older ARNOLD/rapido  models.  But Aronold is the name Hornby brought back from the bankruptcy and the Canadien company Rapido Trains took up the rapido name (for a totally unrelated reason). We just have to accept this fact.

Also, AFAIK, ARNOLD was always the name of the original German company and rapido was just a name of the line of small model trains (eventually named N scale).
