Yes. Washed with Dawn and warm water, scrubbed with a toothbrush, and dried overnight. Handled minimally and only while wearing latex gloves.
IMO, the problem you have is unlikely caused by poor surface prep or greasy fingerprints. To me it is due to the airbrushing technique.
As far as paint stripping goes, there are couple of liquids specifically designed for stripping paint from plastic (styrene) hobby items. Floquil (now Testors?) Easy Lift Off (ELO) which contains chemical similar to what is in DOT3 brake fluid, and Scalecoat Wash Away Paint remover. I have never tried 91% (or even 99%) isopropyl alcohol to strip either Accu Paint or Tru Color paints, but it works - that seems the safest way to go. But be extra cautious with 3-D printed items. Those could be damaged by chemicals which are safe on styrene.
