Need Photo(s) of N&W Low Hood GP35 w/Dynamic Brakes.

I looked at the rr-fallenflags.org site and found just one N&W low hood GP35 w/dynamic brakes (in blue paint)

http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/nw/nw1301.jpg

Are there any more photos anywhere else, preferably in black?

Thanks for any help.

Hmm... Kiz doesn't want
much...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Might be out of luck.  Looks like the order only included 2 units, 1300/1301 that had DB.

http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locoList.aspx?id=NW&mid=50

7 more produced w/o DB with an order from Wabash that was supposed to be 10 units.  Read caption of this photo

http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1604435

Next order of GP35's had high hoods and DBs

Thanks for the bad news LOL.

I have 2 Atlas GP35s w/DBs and low hoods, and I thought I could paint them for N&W. Maybe I should look for another roadname that interchanged with the Southern.

Hmm... how about the
Alaska & Hawaii RR? No,
wait, they only had
U-boats...

You're good then.  Number them 1300 and 1301 .  Pic from rrpicturearchive.net

Maybe I should look for another roadname that interchanged with the Southern.

If you go that route I always found the Frisco "Torpedo tube" 35's interesting.  :)

No GM&O ?

I have a coal mine and 10 Micro-Trains N&W 100-ton hoppers I need to put to use. So, since I found out N&W had 2 GP35s like I have, I'm sticking with N&W.

Hmm... either that or
sell everything N&W and
start from scratch...

The two low nose DB equiped GP35s were ordered by P&WV before the merger, and delivered after the merger (10/64) as N&W 1300-1301.

They were delivered in black with the yellow "hamburger" lettering which lasted until 1971.

N&W 1300 in the 1970s "NW" scheme:

1301:

All N&W ordered locos had hi-noses and dual controls until after the 1st SD40-2 order.

I know you said you had Microscale decals for your SD35s.  Just to let you know that Shellscale.com has any decals you need for N&W blue and black locomotive schemes.

Another blue one.

Pretty sure this is BLACK. These were delivered in black, and this looks black. Will double check later this week,

Mark

But this one (posted in my original post) looks blue to me.

Well there is something going on, because the picture I called blue could have been black, but it's definitely blueish in the photo (which I confirmed in Photoshop that I wasn't just seeing things).  Maybe it's the way the paint faded or maybe its the film, but it's certainly not straight black.

I looked around and there doesn't seem to be an official 'blue body with white lettering' which is what those two pictures of 1301 look like.   :?

There is mention of one-off or experimental schemes that were used on some locomotives, maybe this could be one?

Oh well, whatever the reason, since the locos were delivered in black, that's what I'll paint them. Thanks for your help.

Hmm... send me some
bananas and I'll thank
you too...
