This was done with multiple layers of dry-brushing RR tie brown, Wood, Sand, and White with an occasional swipe of sandpaper between colors.

Allen I used your technique and it works perfect.

The colors turned out pretty damned good Chuck, I like the dark blotches.
I just finished 8 steel plate loads last night, I'll get them posted shortly.

That deck looks great Tony, looks dry and thirsty!  Nice variation in colors as well.

No I haven't.  But I just finished eight steel plate loads for my bulkhead flats.
I'll get the pics cleaned up and posted to the blog and here shortly.
