I KNEW I was asking for trouble as soon as I wrote that. And I meant "Airslide" instead of Airflow...

Hmm... and Kiz always
finds it...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

As Kis has already hinted.

* renderings shown for representation only.

They do say English is a hard language to grasp.

And we're just offering MTL some FREE constructive criticism on how it can make this car a winner for (a limited segment of) consumers (who buy a lot of product).  MTL is free to take the input or not, as we're free to buy the product or not, if it meets our unrelenting standards.  Marketers would kill for this sort of focused feedback in other industries.

What can be done with the DV/Bowser cars to make them look better? Etched walkway and steps are a good start but what about all that underbody plumbing?

I don't think anyone really has a pipe set you could transfer. @tankcar does fabulous piping in brass wire for his HO stuff, but if you started that you'd never get around to your layouts.

Maybe this is a request for Alvin @ Wutter Vehicles and Details, on Shapeways.  There are a lot of the Bowser cars out there and they represent, AFAIR, an earlier version of the prototype than what MTL is offering, so it would be great if we could upgrade them.

No worries, the MTL car is a later phase than the MKT prototype...

The Delaware Valley model is also a "post 1969" Airslide - compare the location of the ribs on the end with the Microtrains drawing (also "post 1969") with the ends on the red MKT car ("post 1966") that I posted.  (Note - "pre 1966" would have a high brakewheel)

I'd rather see someone make parts to backdate a MTL "post 1969" Airslide than trying to fix something that looks like it was carved out of a block of soap...

Not necessarily. N&W's HC17 class was built in '65 - with low brakewheel:

I don't think you can be sure that car was built in '65.  If you look at the shop date it looks like SOU 67.  Also, if you look at the drawing for the N&W HC17 car, it's got a high brake wheel.

It would not say SOU 67 :P

More like SOU 87 (S0U is a post NS merger marking).

The NWHS has lots of proposed drawings ... I'll try to find a more period photo.

Figures they would announce it; I have four DV models I upgrade the roof-walks, added new UP style reporting marks, and weathered up real nice. As they say, scratch build it and then someone will release a run of them...
