Grrrr ... when I saw this title in the post feed, I thought you were reporting that these were finally available. 

Those rivets do look prominent, but I will reserve judgement until I see a model in hand. I will be upgrading the roofwalk though.

The BLI Facebook post said they "We've already received notification that they'll be shipping from our factory within the week."  So figure about 6-7 weeks?  Seems like boat time is about 5 weeks (at least for Atlas - China to East coast).

Yes, all the images on their Facebook post states they are the "production image" so I guess this is what they will be.  I agree the running boards appear too thick. Didn't earlier information from BLI state they would be etched metal unless that was copied erroneously from the description for the HO models.

I do think the lighting is contributing to some of the over sized look.  Are there any pictures that aren't lit from the back?

I'm not sure lighting is going to help the rivet size, the strange representation of raised panel lines, or the protruding doors.   

But I haven't seen one in person yet and we don't comment on photos lest we get the thumbs down.

IDK, I think the rivets look much better in the straight on side view.  My point was that they did about the worst lighting job they could do which brings even more attention to any over sized details.

The door I assume is just an HO company deciding to make a movable door in N for some reason.  For the panel lines, I don't know the prototype very well, is this supposed to represent the seem from overlapping metal sheets?  If so, then yeah that's pretty ridiculous.  The new Atlas PS-1 bugs me a little bit because it has raised lines too, but nothing compared to this for sure.

It says those are production photos, so my call is that they'd be fair game.  If you're referring to the hoopla over the Bachmann K4, that was shut down primarily because of a combination of speculation about mechanical performance sight-unseen and some traffic chicken with the mods.  If these are the production photos BLI wants the world to see, then I think discussion of their characteristics and prototype fidelity is well inside the lines.

Hey, if nothing else, at least it looks like the N scale will have a door that actually covers the opening (HO model shown).   



But unfortunately, like the HO model, all the door hardware is molded onto the door, even the parts that are supposed to stay put when the door opens.
