Wobble or no wobble?

We can thank FVM for starting this trend.

Very nice. Is it just me or do these look just like the BLMA wheelsets?  :)

I also thought that IM recently used wheels which were like the older Atlas metal wheels: the thick rim was metal and the inner part was a solid plastic piece (both wheels were insulated on a solid metal axle).

Is just you, the BLMA's wheels don't have a pool on the back of there wheels.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

I still think that those look like the BLMA N scale wheelsets.

BLMA also mentions the following: OEM Sales:  Manufacturers' take note - Our new trucks and metal wheels are available in bulk for OEM sales.  Please contact us directly at:  sales@blmamodels.com for additional information.

Just wondering.....

If they roll smoothly, stay on track, have a reasonable profile and are a reasonable color compared to a "real" wheel set, why does anyone care what the back looks like ?

I mean, really, when does one ever see it ?

Seriously, my question is not meant to be argumentative.  I just don't understand the issues that some folks raise about parts of our models that are seldom seen  (even if you have the eye sight to do so)

The faces, flanges, & backs look pretty nice.  It may be the pics, but there doesn't seem to be much taper on the tread (probably not a significant factor).

Honestly, I agree on the fact that the rear of the wheel does not matter. Maybe if we were working in a larger scale where it could be seen (HO and up, possibly). Sometimes we get so caught up in little details that we ruin our own fun in the hobby... Although, if the demand where present, maybe someone with connections or the means could pony up and make correct wheel sets. I for one am content with the current metal offerings (as long as the work, as previously mentioned). I just wish I had more of them...

Since they've cancelled nearly every model I've reserved in the last few years, and the ones not cancelled are years overdue, I doubt that I will ever see these.  They do look nice, though.

Absolutely.
Either way, they sure look better than the other wheels pictured in that ad.

Just wish they would do 100  packs. And maybe start using their own damn wheels on their own models...

These look very nice in the ad artwork, but if one may vent for a moment....

For those of us relatively new to the wheel replacement "level" of modeling, it would be enormously helpful if these folks putting out replacement wheels, and big ads telling me to pre-order or I will miss out. would at the very least publish the axle length, or better, a chart showing what other brands/models their wheels will fit.  I don't know a lot about wheel/truck architecture in N scale, but have learned enough to know that you can't randomly interchange wheelsets. I know, I can do an hour or two or three on google, railwire, etc, and find all that information in comments here and there, but the manufacturer already has all this info, I am just asking them to share it and save me the time I could spend modeling or writing more editorials about the evils of pre-ordering.  If I have to pre-order wheelsets 6 months in advance, and pay over $1 per axle (I am old enough to remember buying HO boxcars for $1 per car RTR, and some of my MT cars from my early N days cost less than 4 axles)- then the manufacturer needs to provide me with a list of what their wheels will fit.  And seriously? you are going to make wheels in limited run batches and I have to pre-order them?  You aren't going to stock wheels, like, all the time so you can produce model cars with wheels all the time?
