Max, there is a diagram included with loco. So many languages in the foldout, image is small. Perhaps that's what Peteski will put up?
If not, I'll try to show you what you're looking for my friend.

Took the PC board off, hate those wires. Dogbones from flywheels. And solid frame which seems to be a trend lately. This is my PC Loco with some noise in reverse. Might try to sneak some Labelle 106 white grease in there. Have to look at diagram to see about getting wheels out to measure, and regauge, maybe.

But that's it for now, other things to do around house, and look at generators tomorrow. Hurricane seems to be less of threat, but I wan't to be ready for Winter.
Meanwhile, K4 chugging around nicely :D

Cool, looks like it will be easy to DC it and put a tungsten slab where the personal computer was.

I don't know about SW-1s and long trains, but the SP&S used to haul hundred car trains from Pasco to Vancouver, WA with their Challengers.  At Vancouver, a switch engine, probably an Alco, would take the entire train across the Columbia to Portland.  Not very fast, mind you, but it could pull as much as the big steamer.

To be fair, they really didn't need that much power to get the train to Vancouver.  By the time all of the dams were in, a car could roll from Kennewick to Vancouver.  At least one, a piggyback flat carrying trailers of mail, tried it.  It got loose in Pasco, made it across the bridge to Kennewick, which did require coasting up a very slight grade, then it was downhill all the way.  They managed to derail it at Wishram, so it made it about halfway there.

Here is the parts diagram.  Looks like we have a coreless motor in another loco! I'm working on a full dissection - will post it later this week/weekend.

Interesting is that the date in lower right shows Dec. 2014.

If the forum does not show it full size, here is a direct link http://i1068.photobucket.com/albums/u449/peteski7/Railwire/Arnold_SW1/Parts_Diagram_SM_zpsemly4dgd.jpg~original

Strange to have a parts diagram for each roadname.

Yep, no need for headlights during the day pre 1948.

Not really - Arnold is Europe-based manufacturer mostly producing European models. It is a common practice to have part numbers tied to a specific livery of the loco.  Although it is usually based on the Epoch version of the model (based on the period of when some livery was in use).  Plus these models have several roadname-specific and period-specific  items like the walkways and handrails among other parts. It is probably easier to keep the parts numbers separate.

As far as a printed diagram in the box. I just figured one drawing/list with all available parts.

Again, in  my experience European manufacturers usually provide separate parts list/diagram sheet for each version of the same loco.  They don't just list all the available parts for all the variation of the model.

Also, keep in mind, that there are actually lots of variations here. Look at the stacks, headlights, cabs and handrails. There are lots of minor differences. Good on them!

I looked up the only SW1 Erie had. Said built in 1948, but the diamond logo is pre-1941. I can't find a photo of it with a regular diamond.

Trying to think up a reason to buy one  :|

Took "bogie cover" off one truck. Came off easily. See pic;

And for Max, the wheel dims are: Tread dia= 6.35mm/0.249". Flange dia= 7.41mm/0.291"
measured with digital caliper.
The coupler pins need to be trimmed, or just tossed. Had some trouble coupling to MTL N coupler, but need to try other cars.

Oh, reduced "gear" noise in reverse with some aforementioned Labelle grease on dogbones. Have to do other truck.
