Placed an order for the coupler pockets and other things from your shapeways account, thanks for the heads up about the sale and free shipping.

On a side note, what screws does your coupler pockets use?

The holes in the coupler boxes are all designed for 00-90 screws, the holes that mount to the body can be through hole and might need a little cleaning. The post to close the coupler box was designed as the tap drill size for an 00-90 but my concern is if the plastic will self-tap correctly or if it should be pre-tapped to close the coupler box itself.

Either way, if the screw mount doesn't work properly the boxes are designed in a way that they can still be glued closed. I'll assess this when I get my order of these boxes in and try them out.

Wutter

Just placed an order. To a question about your extended coupler pockets on the 27th of Nov 2015 you replied:
I have some MDC Husky Stacks that I can modify this box to fit perfectly- stay tuned.  Did you have any success?

My personal order for coupler boxes has moved into production, so when I receive them I will do an analysis to see if exterior changes are needed (I suspect the overall height may have to be reduced slightly to clear the outside axle...) I still have to measure up the exact sizing on the MDCs as well as checking dimensional tolerances inside the box.

Don't worry the project is still active!

Update: The coupler boxes I ordered for myself should be here tomorrow and I'll see about uploading a shorter box very soon for standard rolling stock as well as specific applications like the MDC Husky Stack.

And as a reminder for everyone: $10 off Frosted Detail plastic orders over $30 today, Monday the 21th! Just use code FROSTY2015 at checkout.

Quick question. The coupler pockets are not usable with MT product? Your note says they are only McHenry and Accumate compatible.

Okay I have one for you, how about ties that match Atlas code 55 that are notched to fit under the rail joiners so that we don't have to notch them? It could be made using the more inexpensive plastic too.

Would you like it so that its trim to fit? Maybe like 10 in a row and you can just cut to your specific application?

EDIT: To be honest, it might be cheaper (and easier) to just cut some ties from styrene strip for what you are talking about, as a package of maybe 20-40 ties on Shapeways would run you at least $3-5 minimum in the cheaper plastics. And a package of styrene strip is probably around $3 but you can cut a lot more ties out of that.
