Hi Alvin,

I just received one of the new vertical SP clusters. They look great. I do not know if it is the FXD or my poor eyes but I can not see any blemishes at all. I suspect that because they are sooo small I just can not see any. That may change when painted ? ? ? ?

Thanks again for the great work.

Carl

Hi Carl,

Thanks for the feedback! It is FXD because that is the only material I allow for sale of my detail parts. Your eyes aren't fooling you, the amount of blemishes should be very minimal as the layer height is so small and if any and only around overhangs depending on the direction printed.

Alvin,

Honestly, I have yet to buy or use your detail parts, because all my trains are in storage, but I'm inspired by the fact that we, again, have N scale details to work with.  More so, you are so forthcoming with meeting so many requests that I feel like I should pinch myself.  Thanks for all your hard work.

This is a little different than a detail, but I have looked on Shapeways for possum belly wood-chip trailers and the only ones I've seen are versions of "today's" trailers, you know 53' 4 axle trailers.
I model the mid to late 1960's and the trailers of that period are just 40' 2 axle trailers.
I'd really like some Peerless chip trailers of that era.

@sirenwerks Thanks for your compliment! I really do appreciate customer feedback as well as suggestions that you guys put out on the forum. I try my best to accomodate most of the requests to the best of my time and ability.

@wazzou Could you please PM me some pictures or links of the chip trailers you mentioned? I tried doing a search but the oldest I could find was a 1998 40' chip trailer. No guarantees that this model will make it to my store since its quite a bit more involved compared to detail parts, but the more prototype information you have the more likely it is.

Alvin,
Just received a Shapeways order with a few of your parts. I must say your forklifts are exquisite. And can't wait to try out some of the cushioned coupler boxes.
Perhaps another request here. I've been looking for a dual Pyle headlight conversion plate for the early EMD switchers, particularly the Kato NW2.
Any chance for one of these?  http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/ri/ri771ads.jpg

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the comments! I actually know of a product that would be very fitting for what you're looking for:

http://store.sbs4dcc.com/SBS4DCCNScaleTwinBeamSealedHeadlightLens.aspx

I know these are flat etches but they would be a lot thinner around the edges of each sealed headlight beam than I could print at Shapeways because of minimum thickness requirements. If you want me to try it, I can quickly sketch up a model of it and let you know how it works in terms of printability, all I need is the outer diameter of the light housing because I'm not sure what it is on an NW2.
