Doug, I got my collection as part of the N Scale Truck Wiki over at Spookshow's website. I always ask manufacturers direct for parts if they are not available in a catalog. Athearn does have RB swing motion trucks with and without generators. As do Atlas and MTL. Just ask their parts department.

I've sent emails to both.  Waiting for replies.  As, as I mentioned, I did look at the websites for both of those companies with no luck, hence my post(s).   And, I looked at the Atlas ones.  I'll wait for either of the other two.

Just received from MTL:

Hello Doug,

Micro-Trains only has the swing motion caboose trucks with generators available in package form.  We don’t offer them without.

Regards
Gail Jakabosky
Micro-Trains Line Co.

So, one down and one to go.......

Doug

MTL used to sell them.  That they now do not is a mystery, given that they use non-generator trucks on three of their four caboose models — the anomaly of roller-bearing trucks on wood-sheathed cabooses notwithstanding.

Contact Fox Valley about their leaf-spring caboose truck frames.  The bolster height is the same as the MTL trucks, and the bolster hole is centered (as are the bolster pin holes on MTL cupola caboose underframes).  The FVM trucks also are friction-bearing, which is more appropriate for the MTL cabooses, and it's a better-looking truck.  My two New Haven NE4 cabooses that were kitbashed from MTL 50000-series cabooses are the last MTL cabooses of any kind that I own, and they ride on the FVM trucks and wheels.

Just heard from FVM.  Their swing motion trucks were/are sold as part of their various caboose projects and are not available individually.  So, I guess that's it.  No swing motion trucks available without the generators, unless one purchases a caboose that already has them.  A waste of money, in my opinion.

bbussey, thanks for the info.  I need roller bearing trucks, not the friction ones.

Interesting that they are not available from FVM.  M. B. Kleins (Model Train Stuff) is showing one pair of the FVM straight caboose trucks and one pair of the FVM drop center caboose trucks in stock on their website.  I hope that is what you need.

Why don't you want the Atlas swing motiob RB trucks?

Doug, if you are looking for roller-bearing trucks, the Atlas ones are fine and should be available.
