For 9 years swing gate 3 into the Slocan branch has been (nearly) a bare box of plywood.  This week I scenic'd it and built a couple of buildings for it.  Much better!

And a small industry at South Slocan...Selkirk Paving has a gravel pit there that receives additives by covered hopper to add to the gravel on unpaved roads.  The buildings are from Walthers with new roofs added and the conveyor is of Shapeways.  It is only primed and not painted up yet.  Next week I hope

I also purchased a year's worth of Helicon Focus and was playing with it shooting what has historically been a challenging bridge to shoot...the Slocan River bridge on swing gate #1 at the entrance to the layout room.

I finished up the trackwork this week on two new staging yards on my layout.  They are a three-track yard for the Aberdeen & Rockfish (representing Fayetteville, North Carolina) and a four-track yard for the Seaboard System (representing Richmond, Virginia):



I also scratchbuilt this small bridge.  It and the abutments still need paint:

Looks to me that the wires drop through the pipe and are un-terminated . I think the signal is afixed to chunk of PCB and will be the base that will be goo'ed , screwed , or magnetically hold it to the layout . Just guessing though . Nothing is over-sized as to giveaway that it's N Scale .

Mark, your layout never ceases to impress on every level: mechanical, scenic, operations, electrical, scope, selectivity, and any other category. It's enough to make  a guy want to move to Canada.

Correct, the bottom of the PCB actually looks like this:

With enough 603 sized pads for wiring up to a triple target signal with resistors and thru-holes for transitioning to 24/26 gauge wire.

Got my first FXD print from Shapeways.



I'm on the fence about the quality.  It's certainly better then FUD but still a lot of visible layering.  Also there're some artifacts on the ends I need to ask about.
