As I said few days ago:

Still chuckling about all the excitement this rumor generated.  As suspected, it was highly unlikely for Kato to produce  2 brand new models the same year.    :D

You're calling the Kato Email a rumor?  I directly quoted from *their* email.....

If you folks recall, the Kato GEVO's were announced like the WEEK AFTER the NTS several years ago.  (and multiple people here were pontificating on how crazy that announcement would be too.... :) )

What make any of you think their announcement is timed to the show???

Read my lips: NO NEW LOCOS!  ;)

One per year is what you get.  IIRC, the email just said something about all new tooling.  But keep on dreaming...

Go back and read the post that started this thread.  It strongly implies that the new-tooled loco is 'older'.

The ACS-64 is not an 'older' loco.  I don't think that's true in anyone's definition.   Also hadn't it already been announced before that e-mail?

So either the e-mail was misworded or the Kato rep was wrong.

I say let the rumor mongering continue.

It would be irresponsible not to speculate.

P42 bolt on Nose?
Boy I sure hope so... My anniversary units are so pretty... Except that their nose is wrong.... Wouldn't be as bad if I could figure out how to make a flush insert for the newer headlight style....
Ah well... I'm still stuck on a GP38...
Be nice if ATSF 2900 series locos will be built... When 2926 is done it will be the largest Northern roaming the rails... 120' long so only a few feet shorter than Challenger...
That and 3751.... I'd kill for that too... But I may just be stuck with a Bmann 4-8-4 and try to modify the tender... (as far as I am concerned modifying that locos shell is way over my head...)

So, any more teasing from Kato? October is coming to a close soon and nothing new has been announced yet.  Do we still think that there will be a 2nd new model announced by Kato, or is the ACS-64 that newly-tooled loco for 2015?

Speaking of ACS-64, the recent photos I saw in Kato ad show what to me looks like un-sprung red plastic pantographs.  :|

Naperville RPM is this week.  Doubt they'd announce then.

Trainfest is a little less then a month away.  That's where I'd put my money.

Nice, I will get a pair of the PH I, hopefully they release some matching heritage equipment with Amflleets I.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.
