Put it in a new topic, please.

yeah back to my regularly scheduled sirenwerks chewing....

you will have to accept that frustration will show in many ways, I promise
I will not blow a seam and am not at all angry.

please re-read the atlas s2 diesel comment.  I think you may have missed the meaning.
( or you may be teasing me.... I am not sure)

If I  can have everything my way, Kato would be making a lot of Pacifics
and more important, everyone else would be making steam locos to
THE STEAM FORMULA (Kato defined it)
split vertical loco frame, two wire drawbar, CAPP, and flywheel.

I can go on with that description.

however....

I am still thinking Kato will do a Diesel next.

Teaswing, of course...  Though I immediately thought of a set up like Simpson had.

Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

N scaler711:  "We also need a better E60"

From some of the stories I remember, it appeared that Amtrak needed a better one as well.

I remember as a kid seeing a pair of E60's pulling a 100 car coal train across the Navajo reservation.

They seem to have worked better as freight locomotives than passenger.  Was yours the original single-cab version built for the Black Mesa line, or one of Amtrak's dual-cab passenger versions?

It would be irresponsible not to speculate:

"We hope that you saw our announcement earlier this month of the new Santa Fe F7 Blue Bonne and Warbonnet paint locomotive releases! We have a few more exciting "older" locomotive release announcements planned out for the coming months, including a _brand new tooled engine_, so we hope you stay tuned!"

- Kato USA Email

So this newly tooled thing is the toaster with wheels? And the "older" model is still a mystery?

I still bet they do an SDP45 with either an early Amtrak or later era SP or GN train.

I think they could probably do a late City of San Francisco without tooling too many new cars...it would be neat if they did a Sunset Limited.

GN SDP45 with the Big Sky Blue Empire Builder.  Except for an observation car, they'd have everything they need to then do the mid-50s version, and the dome coach would also work for the NP, BN, and Amtrak.  Maybe others, but I know those.

No. I don't expect it.  Squirrelhunter's late City of San Francisco would be more likely, in my opinion.  BSB isn't all that popular, compared to the earlier green and orange, so if they do the EB, it would probably be the mid-50s version, with F units.

No one knows, this is all blind speculation. Kato has not said a thing yet.

Kato's cars are primarily UP prototypes, IIRC, not suitable for an EB.  Conr Cor has many GN EB cars, inlcuding at least two whose window arrangements are reversed, but not a full train, again IIRC.
