Dude - you have kids.  I have kids.  I can't afford that.  Must mean I'm in the wrong business.

I got one.
Where has the 50 quantity been pulled from?  I knew they were limited but I thought it was closer to 150?

Yeah, I don't know for sure either.
When I heard they were available, I called Chuck and he got me the Duel Pete, the Smokey and the Bandit and the Movin' on KW's.
maybe @cfritschle can chime in?

Either way, that is still much less than a 1000 or 10,000.  One thing we know for sure is that even without a pre-announcement, they went really fast and then were sold on eBay for ridiculous prices.

Of course there is nothing wrong with Tom doing whatever he wants with them (and as a professionally weathered model he might be able to sell them, if he chooses, for a good chunk of change) but I also see collectors of very special short runs cringing.

I wonder how many folks bought these with the intention of collecting?

Probably more than you think. :-)
I suspect more than half of the run went to collectors.

When these showed up at BLW, I managed to get a full set, but what I thought of as a really high price was holding me back from buying more. I never imagined how good (and well-detailed) these models were. If I knew that (and also how limited of a run it was) I would have ordered another set on the spot.  By the time I saw what a treasure these were, they were long gone.  You can consider my set a collector set (I won't be weathering it or installing lights in them).  :)

Guess what, kids!
I asked Rapidpro to do a 1970-71 Plymouth Valiant in 1/160.
AND HE DID. Should be available next week!!!!!
