My wife will be there the week before for the AMerican Fisheries Society meeting but I couldn't convince her to make it a two week family affair.

No Dee, Not "Portland, Maine"; although I did live in the Pine Tree State for a few years back in the '70s.....saw my first, and I guess only, live RS11s in Calias one afternoon...

Gotta convince Magliaro to let people come see his locomotive and carbuilding works  -- tho it might get  crowded fast in his 10x13 layout/office/workspace area :D

I'll be there also, with Mt Rainier N-Scale
We're doing a combined layout with Steven's Pass oNetrak.
It should be a nice looking layout, make sure all the A$$Hats stop by to say hello.

No, no money, no vacation time.  I was there in 1994 for the N Scale Convention, and found it to be a very nice town.  My only complaint was the traffic.  It wasn't that heavy, for a large city, but they were the rudest drivers I've ever encountered.  Out of their cars, the people were very nice.  If I'm ever there again I'll leave the car at the motel and take the bus or light rail, if it's too far to walk.  Besides, it's hard to find a parking space in most of the town.

Only town I've ever been in where every driver behind the first car starts honking as soon as the light turns green - even though the cross street is parked solid with four lanes of stalled traffic, waiting for a red light at the next intersection on THAT street.  If I had gone, I would have broadsided a Caddy limousine ten feet in front of me. 

The bus passengers were very friendly, and seemed to include every racial, social, and economic group in town.  Maybe they didn't like the car drivers any more than I did!  Certainly not one of "those" towns where only the poor ride the bus.
