The bottle says ready to spray from the bottle but after a few tips from another trucolor user i thinned the paint with a little 100% acetone finger nail polish remover (the paint is acetone based). With the extra little bit of thinner in it it sprayed beautifully.

Be careful using fingernail polish remover - those often have other things (like skin lotion or conditioners) added to the acetone.  Why not just use pure acetone from any hardware store? It comes in quart and gallon containers and it quite inexpensive.  Or actually use the TrueColor thinner?  That option is a bit pricier but guarantees compatibility.

wcfn100, those look like ex LIRR coaches on that Iowa Interstate fundraiser. Cool to see them still rolling.

But those aren't LI cars... they are some ex-CP cars that were sold to Agence Metropolitaine de Transport out of Montreal.

I had no issues with the nail polish remover I had on hand (I mainly used it since it saved me a trip to the store), but pure acetone would be the better option.

I'm guessing this is not an acrylic paint then as it has a solvent based thinner? Full precautions when you spray it? Respirator, no ignition sources, etc...

That is what I miss most about Polyscale, the safe paint that won't turn my pilot light into a rocketship engine.

The most uncomfortable (trust me on that one) cars the CP ever owned...... rode like a bucking bronco and the seats were right out of a horror movie.... ugh!
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

You probably shouldn't huff the stuff but I sprayed it outside since I don't have an indoor spray booth. No it's not acrylic and the bottle says flammable so probably shouldn't spray it near an open flame.
