Peteski:  That dark line beyond the spike is a railroad track.  Google Maps (satellite view) shows that it's a spur going to an industry with a bunch of tank cars.  Then there's more grass and trees, and a small yard, multiple industries, and what could be somebody's main line.

Golden Spike Park, Council Bluffs, Iowa

Ah, that's more like it!   :)

Taken on a railfanning trip to Fostoria, Ohio, July 1, 2010. It was about 90-degrees if I recall.....

I decided I wasn't happy with the initial Z2 install in my Atlas American.   While it was super easy, it was also finicky, so I ripped it out and started over.

I first ditched the stock weights, which were also used to bridge electrical pickup from the drawbar and the two tender trucks.  I replaced it with decoder lead wire, soldered to all three points.

Once soldered (which was a bit tricky), I re-installed the motor and packed tungsten putty in and around everything except the drive shaft.  This is exactly how I assembled the tender for the re-motored Mogul.

I had to sacrifice the tender tops, but the putty doubled the weight of the tender, which now keeps 'lectricity flowing very well.  No more jerky jerks.  I've been shunting cars around Marsland all week with these two!

Maybe it's compensating for something.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Hi
Not so much the weekend, for me it's more like a six-month update!!  Sorry some of the photos aren't great.
WNYP 630 awaiting some detail parts.

LAL 425 awaiting grabs.

M&E 18, with full (ish) cab interior, including electrical cabinet, control stand, radio, fire extinguisher, and 3 seats for the crew.

Alco DL-202, Black Maria, ready for the paint shop.  Need the weather to improve.

My 12 year old HR-616 is getting a cab transplant, and will eventually resurface as CP Rail 7004, as demonstrated in 1988.

And an old one just to show I can finish a project.  LVRC 7803, parked at Morristown, should be Morrisville.

Sorry for taking up so much space, but it is 6 months worth!

CHeers from the South Pacific, and winter (burrrrr)

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

You bought a new house without exact dimensions of every possible new layout space in hand?  What sort of model railroader are you??  Poser!
