Very impressive Max. The quality of your work and all the detailing is outstanding.  It would be worthy of being a master pattern for a resin-cast model kit.

Thank you so very much, folks.

The idea of making a mold of it has occurred to me.   If I did it, I think it would be best to do it BEFORE
the grabirons are all on.  The body and underframe could be two castings, and all the detail parts like
a brakewheel, roofwalk, grabirons would be put on by the builder.

I don't know if I really want to do this.  I will think about it.

If you decide to I would definitely throw in my support... Either way I think I will be following your lead and building a couple of my own :)

Very impressive build so far!

Absolutely the correct plan.  Heck, I couldn't begin to do a steam loco rebuild/detailing project of the caliber you can, but was able to cast a box car first time.  Go for it guy.  Great work.

Hmm... Max, you're giving
Kiz an inferiority complex...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.
"It works! It works!"

Finally, the last construction part before paint!    I must say, after envisioning this as being a "pretty close" project that would not take "too long", it's become a lot of work.  I think this will be the one and only that I make of these.

This installment covers all the body details, so let's get right to it.  The photos tell the story.

The car is all finished up.
I had to wait for some NP freight car decal sheets to arrive.

I painted it with a 50/50 mix of  Scalecoat Roof Brown and Scalecoat Oxide Red, which looked darn close
to the NPRHA color card I have.  Fox Valley wheelsets, MT body mount couplers, some weathering powders, Dullcote,
and here ya go.

(And, um... apparently from the photos... I need to DUST!  HA HA HA!)

Jaw dropping as usual    I would have broke off each and every one of those roof rib ends...
