Guilty as charged.  Check out that PRR five-hole main block hook.  After I scratch-created it from styrene, someone produced it as a laser cut item.
I actually also had other models there:  the Shermans Creek bridge diarama, the PRR D70 diner, the G22 with containers, and the Baldwin Transfer unit.

Very nice work Doug! Wish I knew the other items were yours, too.
Enjoyed meeting you and chatting with you in person.
Best, Otto K.

I had a great time manning the Silicon Valley FreeMo-N layout, explaining the techniques I used on the station and San Felipe modules, and meeting a bunch of folks known only from the boards.  Didn't spend that much time in the Grand Ballroom at the swap-meet / sales / vendors, but...

I noticed! Your other stuff was the breadcrumb trail that lead me to you with this derrick. I also have that acrylic 5 hole hook installed on mine. I modded the cab, too. Did you relocate the smoke stack, by chance? Is that a Red Caboose FM?

Thanks for starting the thread Otto!
Lots of cool pics and links from you A-hxxs are all appreciated from the rest of us back here in the Peanut Gallery.   :D
Did anyone ask Intermountain about their "-2 project" Lok-Sound decoders while they were at the show....  like are they PNP, and are they going to market them separately so we can fit them in our other IM and Atlas loco chassis'?
...or do I have to call them myself?

Just posted the Banquet thank you reel.  It covers all of the companies that supported the Raffle at the convention. There are a lot of just people pix, some new release pix, and just a lot of fun.  I hope you enjoy.

Hi Josh:
Did not relocate the stack. That is a Red Caboose flat that I found in a MOW set several years ago, in of all places but Sacramento. By the way, I heard that Fox Valley acquired Red Caboose. Maybe there will be more flat cars and X-29s in the future.

Just posted the Banquet thank you reel. NSE George

Thanks George - a great video with lots of reminders of a wonderful Convention [plus the N Scale Kits picture at 04:46!]. Thank you to all those who put so much effort into making this a great time. Lyn and I are looking forward to seeing you all in Kansas City next year.

The new announcements from N Scale Kits launched at the show will be announced soon under a separate heading.

Best wishes

Peter

I didn't move my stack either. Your FM looks great! I picked up an honest to goodness Red Caboose MOW set that came with 4 cars: two sets of an X29 and the FM, with one of each set in gray and yellow.. How did you make the sides on that flat? Just strip styrene? I really need to make an idler for my W120.

The three trailers have been released and are available from N-Scale Kits.  http://www.nscalekits.co.uk/autotrailers.html The auto carrier for the Flexi-van was announced and available at the convention in Roanoke in 2014.  This model has also been nominated for this year's N Scale Vehicle Kit of the Year Award.

AND WON! Thanks guys

We also announced at the Manufactures' Breakfast that we are researching a fourth autotrailer that we hope to have at Kansas City too. More details will follow in the Fall. Other announcements will be posted.

Hi Josh:
That's the same MOW set that I have.  After missing out on that set for more than $45 on Ebay, I found it at Bruce's in Sacramento where it had sat in their case for several years - on sale for $24.  I used the grey flat car and X29 with my wrecker train.  The sides on the flat are just made from styrene.  Another choice you have now for the idler car is the TrainCat GRa, or the Shapeways GR.  I think you already have Mount Vernon's MOW decal set.

BTW - the Red Caboose flat is 2' longer than an FM - I just cut down that car to the proper 40' length for the DD1 container FM.  It was not hard to do.

I do have that traincat GRa that I don't know what to do with.  I need to dig up some pics of one as an idler.  I do have the MVS decals. I'm also glad to see you chopped off those two feet. I feel those 2 feet make a big difference on smaller cars.

Peter has already posted that the N Scale Kits Flexi-van auto carrier was a winner of the N Scale Vehicle of the Year Award.

You can see his model plus the other winner (the Rietze Sprinter ambulance) here:  http://nscalevehicles.org/

Also, if you scroll down a bit, you will see that the five Trainworx tractor/trailers were the winner of the first ever Excellence 'N' Innovation Award presented by the N Scale Vehicle Association!
