45' trailers:
not sure the exact date,but think they were allowed
on piggybacks after 78.
the EL trains seemed to be all 40' trailers or less.
and they were loaded with the UPS drop frames after 71
which were mostly 40' or less.
EL could sure run a Pig train.
the NYC Flexi's ran fast until the tracks were mostly slow orders.
don't recall PRR or N&W-LV giving EL too much competition in the
speed department.
but no one thought it was ODD that N&W was giving a Competitor
most of its eastbound TOFC/COFC traffic instead of its owned EL ?
LV profits went directly to PRR/PC.
