Survey — ESM Pennsy class G38/G39 ore jennies mass-produced

During the Amherst Railroad Show in West Springfield MA on January 24 and 25, 2015, a number of modelers inquired about a mass-market injection-molded Pennsylvania class G38 or G39 ore jenny in N scale. If you agree, click here to take the survey!

Bryan, you might double check that link. Looks like a ":" is missing or out of place.

Done!
I said 1 for Pennsy and 1 for PC, but I'd rather have less than ten of each, but would take what I could get.

this is tough.

just PRR and ten packs...
I am likely to save up a bit and get one...

lets hope a prr steam engine is not in competition for my cash
if you try this.

I'm with Ed on this.  I would buy 5 packs but probably not 10 packs.

People at the show were asking for 30-50 cars.  That's what this survey will help determine, if the project is feasible at all to do.  Can 10,000 ore cars successfully be marketed and sold to what is in essence the PRR subset of the N scale modeler community?  That is the fundamental question.

Out of my time period, unfortunately.  But if you did them I'd buy a pack (5 or 10) just to support the effort.

I'm torn here too.  My primary era is 1956, before this class came into being.  In fact, the PRR was hauling ore then by half-filling H21s to account for the density of the ore.

I'm not sure I'm committed deeply enough to my late PC/early CR era to justify the outlay of cash.  Chances are once the BLI M1s arrive, I'll probably retrench even more deeply into 1950s Pennsy.

I voted for the PC cars, but you can probably forget that vote as I just have too many irons in the fire.  If you could make 'em at Trainman prices, that'd be one thing, but I know the ESM version will be as amazingly detailed as the rest of its line and understandably at a higher price point.

my brains are mush....

ok is the car I thought.

If a ten pack is the only way, I'll get a pack
a five or six pack makes sense because these would get used in clumps

the short car look I like...
you may be able to reduce the cost by linking them in pairs
or just supply links and make a coupler pocket for accumates or MTs

I think a removeable load is a good idea.

I could use 100-125 of these; mostly PC.
So, 25 to a pack would work for me

The Pennsylvania RR has been accused of being a "Third Tier" railroad, but there's more modeling it than you think.  I think a lot of us have been in the hobby for a long time, so when someone announces a new run of a model done 10-20 years ago, we might not jump all over it  because we already have what we need. You have to plan something that hasn't done before (like the X58 or H30) for me to get excited.  I had kit bashed a number of G39's from MDC Hi-Side Gons, but at best they can only be considered "stand-ins".
