Broadway Limited had the M1a and Centipede on display.

Wow, they REALLY spared no expense on their display.

Not even a table cloth...

Can't wait for the MT cars.  Finally can feel comfortable chopping something up for Soo variations.

I've seen BLI at two WGH shows... same exact thing - single booth, bare tables with a few models spread out on 'em. Train shows clearly aren't their cup o' tea.

Was that a production model of BLI M1-a? That drawbar is too long, yes?

Are they coupled together? I think not.

I didn't think of trying to couple the loco and tender (I could have).
I posted bunch of photos of BLI's N scale locos in https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=35215.0

I don't understand the critiques of the BLI booth. I thought it was OK. The entire display was made from well-finished oak.  They could have done better jobs on the tags placed by the models, but it didn't bother me too much since they let me handle the models to get bunch of photos and they gave me a nice embroidered BLI hat.  :)

Come on, get it right...."Bowling ball sized"... not gold ball sized..... think of them as place holders......  :D

We spent many hours at the local bowling alley, wearing ridiculous shoes and carefully 3D scanning prototype bowling balls. Those who were there in person would no doubt have noticed the three finger holes carefully located in random positions to more accurately portray the random nature of the prototype.

....or.....

As I explained to those who saw them in person... these samples were a complete surprise to us. As of only a few weeks ago the factory had not even started tooling them yet! These samples were incomplete and very much a work-in progress. As for the bowling ba.... errrr.... rivets, they are actually not that bad width-wise, but they are way too deep, causing them to look far larger than they should be. We will fix this. I'm amazed that these seem to be the focus and that nobody has pointed out the missing fan blades, huge holes where the (still to be cut) louvers should be, and way too wide board... ooops... sorry. Never mind....

We will post new images on our web site when we get samples that are closer to production. In the meantime, it simply amazes me that our factory was able to  get this far in such a short time. This bodes well for the project overall.

Now, if anybody has found a pair of size 11 Dockers at a bowling alley recently, please let me know. These bowling shoes pinch.... :(

Really dude?

They have a specially designed booth that is right up there with the Bachmann and Atlas displays. That's not even a table you are looking at.

Did that booth feature an uncovered table and signs written in ballpoint pen? Because that's what I see in Bryan's photo.

Looks like sharpie, at least get it straight if you are going to rip it.   :D

I personally did not approve of their clothing. Not the right brand if you really are a mover and shaker.  Shoes were also worn.  Bad shoes means poor QC.  Any good model railroader knows this!   :o

Some additional photos that didn't transfer properly from my cell to my email the other day.

The BLI Centipede, FVM caboose and gondola, and Osborne airplanes.  The FVM gon has been traveling under the radar in recent months, but is due by the summer.

Gotta get me a fleet of those Southern gons to go with the IM high hood sd40-2 (assuming it'll be ready in this lifetime).

I have a dream that manufacturers will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by there display tables, but by the quality of the models they produce...

Thanks for the pictures Bryan!

Not being there I can't comment on a specific display, but I can think of one reason for leaving the tablecloth off.  Ever see someone snag a cloth and clear the table?  Bad enough if it's dinner, but rather expensive at a train show.  With a bare table at least they'll probably only lose one model at a time.
