An SW1200RS is a variation of the standard SW1200 that featured large front and rear (on some units) numberboard housings, EMD Flexicoil B-B trucks, and larger fuel tanks for roadswitcher service. The majority of the Canadian National and Canadian Pacific SW1200 fleets were purchased as SW1200RS units.
...ham sandwich...
I get totally lost with SW units.... The CPR had SW1200RS units for many years... can anyone tell me how these differ from a SW9, SW1200, SW1500, ham sandwich.....? Wondering if it would be worth bashing one from the new MT unit.
You could also use parts from the Rapido GMD-1 !
The Railwire is not your personal army.
What I would do if I were going to build one....- replace truck sideframes with Flexcoils (either microtrains or resin)- Cue the music
Or Rapido.
