I get totally lost with SW units.... The CPR had SW1200RS units for many years... can anyone tell me how these differ from a SW9, SW1200, SW1500, ham sandwich.....? :facepalm:

Wondering if it would be worth bashing one from the new MT unit.

I think the RS was for Road Switcher, thus the extended range of the larger fuel tanks and the easier riding Flex-coil trucks.

You could also use parts from the Rapido GMD-1 !

What I would do if I were going to build one....

- Start With a Walthers/Lifelike SW1200

- Replace the headlight with a Rapido GMD 1 numberboard/headlight casting.

- Add handrails (Athabasca kit #8203)

- replace truck sideframes with Flexcoils (either microtrains or resin)

- build new fuel tank.

- Cue the music
