Ad redirects to Lemode-mag
« on: January 10, 2015, 11:12:53 AM »
Tom,

The last couple of days I have been getting automatically redirected to lemode-mag when a page refreshes.  This seems to be more prevalent when using Chrome, but it has happened to me on both Safari and IE as well.

I did a quick search thinking I had a virus, but it turns out to be a recent Google Ads issue:

Thought you would want to know before the masses start yelling  :)

Thanks,
David

I had the exact same issue yesterday using Firefox on Windows 7.
Sometimes it was to some Good Housekeeping Magazine page.

Same. But glad to hear it's not my problem.

Yes, it is a problem with Google at the moment. Thanks for bearing with it.

Amazing that it took Google so long to deal with it, right?

Oh, Google's customer service model has been on the monopoly operating track for years, i.e., what we give you is what you're gonna get. I'm actually slightly surprised they did anything at all, as opposed to doing nothing and just letting the ads with bad code roll out of the queue naturally. They have disincentive to fix that type of problem because I'll bet the "mistake" resulted in thousands of views/clicks they could bill a big advertiser for. :|

Odd, didn't see it with Firefox on Fedora 21   Y'all need to update to a real operating system, leave that toy Windows stuff behind.

Was it the operating system or did you just have the Adblock Plus add-on installed?

I was worried, the link showed "ad redirects to le...".

I was afraid the next letters were going to be "monparty.org".

Actually, no, I've been too lazy to install adblock (read, don't care enough).
