Needed a GP-60

Took photos of UP GP-60s on 09/19/2014 in Chickasha OK.  Although I like to model early 1970s, I had to get one in N Scale.  Walthers made a good running diesel.

Most people probably won't care, but if you look at the dynamic brake section, the blisters are different.

The Life Like model is of a later phase.

That's why I'm looking forward to the Fox Valley variations which will be closer to what I need to kitbash.

But you are correct,  the Walthers/Life Like GP60 is an excellent loco.

Congrats on your purchase.

Here is another real UP GP-60 taken at the same time as the first two.  Also, adding a view of the opposite side of the Walthers GP-60.  It runs great.  I had to add a small piece of black plastic electrical tape inside the windshield to keep the bright headlight from shine through.  Sure, I may also dark paint the inside yellow plastic showing through the side windows.  For $49.99 close out plus an extra 5% discount from the big on line close out store, I am happy.  It can really pull.  Due to allergies, I use Kato Unitrack on a carpeted HTD layout with lift off scenery, roads, buildings, and vehicles.  It basically has an outer loop with passing siding and inner dog-bone track with spur.  At least, it is not too hard to vacuum and keep dust free.

Yep.

That's the phase.

Life Like did a beautiful job.
